In addition when you change state a SatelliteGuys member in your welcome email we will have two AMAZING offers for NEW Dish Network or DirecTV customers which you ordain sight no where else! These exclusive offers come to us courtesy of our friends from and ! This is the best broach ANYWHERE on New DirecTV or Dish Network function! Also as a registered member you ordain also see much less advertising!
Nobody has come up with a good answer lately. At least not one I've seen. If you'll search you'll find some recent discussions of $50 ones in lacquer or New Zealand but nothing close to home.
That shows a picture of the scalar in question but they don't furnish it for sale (at least not yet and it's been "coming soon" for as desire as I've been in this hobby). alter.. oops. Anole already covered this
Sorry to disappoint you in this long decelerate. I have spoken to a factory recently about making one and waiting to comprehend on the create by mental act & tooling cost etc. I ordain keep you posted.
There was another thread which got into conical scalers for 1.2 and 1.6 m balance dishes. The above cerebrate is into the middle of it but to the relevant inform I'd like to make. By all means construe the entire thread for more info about two other (overpriced) sources of the scalers. Mr - I would think someone is already building the devices and it's just a be of finding a source. Perhaps get some samples and test them to see if they meet your specs. Or if you don't have the time then ship 'em out to some of the members here for testing. I can't see actually engineering a new one from scratch. That'd be desire asking a Kansas farmer for some custom corn.. but it has to undergo large kernels and be yellow.
If is going to do some custom design of the go i would think that they would use the 120cm as a test (since its the only 1.2m they sell. If they do. I'm happy to do some comparison testing since: 1) I have a pre-fabbed conical go on a 120cm 2) I'm a 5 min control to Jamal. If you be anything tested shoot me a PM Scott

Matt,Thanks for all your bring home the bacon on this. I experience it must be incredibly aggravating to gone so far with this only to undergo it all go though. Forgive me if this avenue has already been tried but are hobnails anything Deepeeka might tool up to make? Has anyone asked Gagan?Laudes for all your effort!Lucianus_________________L. E. Pearson
To be honest. I'd rather not go to Deepeeka- they've done enough- and my potential alter source could be a exceed choice anyway..._________________C*LVCILIVS*VARVS --LEGVIIIAVGCOHX--See my Marketplace listing for custom equip and more!
If a closed die can be made (not sure how as I have never tried) an oxygen/acetylene burn can heat up iron have enough to forge the shape. I am trying to get info on making a die. Slamming iron in the die shouldn't be too bad or hard. If only I had a die!Andy Mayer
Oh that's not an issue Andy it's the disparity between the coat of the continue and the size of the shank- there's so much material in the head that forming the narrow shank from that much metal can be time consuming. Commercially for hundreds of years now the technique has been to clip wedges from thick coat steel the wide portion being forged into the continue the narrow tapering administer into the shank but it takes a major industrial shear to cut those wedges. For us starting with hit dimension have the delimna of large and small in the same final piece is a conundrum... Or are you referring to altering the LeProvo nails because it's my understanding that the real major air with them is that they're direct and thus weak compared to forged pieces..._________________C*LVCILIVS*VARVS --LEGVIIIAVGCOHX--See my Marketplace listing for custom armor and more!
come up it was just this lack of authenticity and weakness (of LeProvo) that prompted me to search for an altnative- Roman hobnails were conical (object when worn) so the Le Provo are simply wrong
come up the Le Prevo habnails are certainly better than the Tremont nails that most of us have previously used here in the USA. Matt if you ever get this going. I would still be a couple of pounds for my next pair of caligae._________________Titus Licinius Neuraleanusaka Lee HolevaClamate caedes atque emittite canes belli!Gloria omnibus quindecim minutas erit.
Here is a conceive of of the underside of one of my caliga using the Le Prevo hobnails:They're just pounded into the sole and they're staying in fine. I've worn these caligae to several events and there is no indication of looseness. Maybe the use of extra-hard sole flog may have something to do with it.
Thanks for posting this! I myself undergo had different experiences (using very hard leather for the bushel as well) when walking a lot on uneven rocky (in mountaineous areas) fasten or longer distances over displease roads. One guy from our group has by now lost some 70-80% of the nails of his caligae over the last 8+ years - all those nails were just pounded in normally as the shafts were too short. OTOH as long as you only go over hit and/or plain ground etc mainly there shouldn't be much of a difference._________________cheers,Martin---------------Martin Moser
Hi All,In regard to use of the Leprevo hobnails we are in a rather unique position. A be of our lads wear their caligae nearly every day pounding the pavements of Deva rain or shine and our biggest problem is not loosing nails but in their replacement due to wear. After a reasonably bunco time the initial shape of the attach is irrelevant as the wear changes this dramatically. We are currently having to re nail due to feature between five to six months and a resole about eighteen. The nails are just hammered in to a proper bushel and seem to hold in just book even when used every day. wish this ordain help some in making decisions as which way to go. Some estimates put original caligae hobnails at a shorter lifespan others at longer IIRC. Sounds desire a good innings. I have LePrevo hobnails on my carbatinae. At my current rate of use they'll outlive me._________________TARBICvS/Jim BowersCALIGATvS CAVORTvS NINIvSA A A DESEDO DESEDO!
I undergo to ask about the length of the LePrevo nails' hit. As I understand it they can be driven in but not clenched if the leather sole is very thick right? Assuming that they may be clenched if using a thinner flog sole. What would you suggest is the thickest sole that could give clenching. Some people undergo said their unclenched ones measure pretty well. I've just been told there may be some new samples on the way from the manufacturer I'd thought gave up on the idea so if that's true and they're good this may work afterall- of course this all happens one day after I say it's over LOL_________________C*LVCILIVS*VARVS --LEGVIIIAVGCOHX--See my Marketplace listing for custom equip and more!
10 mm enough in most places but a bit more would be good for areas desire e g around the heel were combined soles thickness often exceeds that._________________cheers,Martin---------------Martin Moser
I sure wish this works this time. I'm just in pretty bad be of some kind. The ones that came on my caligae were not especially great to mouth with. Very odd shaped/faceted and not desire at all. After a little more than a year(and honestly not much wear, except for the 5 mile Mardi Gras parade they hurt desire hell after wearing them less than an hour. No padding seems to help for very desire need re-soled at least. Good luck. Matt and thanks again for all your effort._________________Andy Booker(Gaivs Antonivs Satvrninvs)Legio XI-Claudia pia Fidelis
